If you want, you can practise you favourite sport without renouncing to the pleasure to be in Tuscany and to dedicate most of your time to the discovery of the wonderful panoramas of the Valdorcia, of the historic little towns nearby, of the great wines of this area. In fact at only 15 minutes from Ortaglia there is a golf-course of 9 holes with driving range and putting green ! You can practise a little and also have all the time you need to discover this beautiful land.

MONTALCINO : with its great Fortress where you can taste the world famous Brunello di Montalcino. but also ORVIETO, PERUGIA, ASSISI, GUBBIO, AREZZO, CORTONA, SIENA, SAN GIMIGNANO, FIRENZE .... 

If you are HEALTH AND FITNESS oriented you probably already know about the TUSCAN SPAS. This is the largest thermal SPA area in Europe and its springs as well as its structures are definitely in the vanguard : CHIANCIANO, famous for curing liver diseases; BAGNO VIGNONI, visited since the ancient times by Popes and Nobles along with anyone else who wanted to cure the arthritis... and Montepulciano SPA, Sarteano SPA, S.Giovanni SPA.

Like most of the people who have the pleasure to drive or bike across the Tuscan hills also our guests are often able to catch the beauties of this Land through the lens of their cameras.

Among the memories of their vacations, our guests can choose three pictures that will be published in our website from November to February. The internet surfers can vote for the pictures they like better and so doing concur together with an architect, a painter and one of us, to the final rating.

In march 2002 we will assign the prizes:

• first place: three days free stay at the Ortaglia for two persons
• second place: two days free stay at the Ortaglia for two persons
• third place: one day free stay at the Ortaglia for two persons.

Every year, in spring and autumn, we host two painters desiring to be ravished by the fabulous Tuscan landscapes.

Their works of art will be exposed in the living rooms of the Ortaglia for few months and our guests can admire them and also can purchase the paintings they prefer taking back home an unique souvenir of an unforgettable vacation in Tuscany.
